With sadness, we share the passing of Philip A. Snodgrass of Elmwood, Illinois. Philip, born on August 5, 1935, passed away on July 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Frank; his wife Barbara L. Northrup; his son Philip Snodgrass Jr.; and his siblings, Tom Snodgrass and Marvel Passmore.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tracy Ruder (Scott) of St. Jacob and Shalaine Maher (Sean) of Brimfield; his grandchildren, Nick (Sarah), Holly (Erika), Philip III, Kyla, Ashlyn (Austin) and Erin; his great grandchildren, Willa, Lynleigh, Lily, Grace and Amyra; and his niece Cindy Parr.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Morrison and Mary Wiley Library in Elmwood.

“I rode to work with this man several years to Normal and back to Elmwood every day. We talked about so many things even though we had a 20-year age difference. Family was the main topic many times which meant a lot to each of us. This man had that quality that had you liking him immediately. He was a full-time service man in the military and rose to the highest rank of a noncommissioned officer. Phil was my friend; his wife was a saint and now they have found each other again.”
