We announce the death of John P. Darnell (Elwood, Illinois), who passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 75. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sherry Darnell; his sons, Michael Darnell (Kimberly Smith) and Matthew Darnell (Suzanne Das); his stepgrandchildren, Evan, Madeline and Tara; his siblings, Virginia Page (James), Marcha Osgood (John) and Larry Darnell (Vickie); and his sister-in-law Sheila Husarik (Richard).
In lieu of flowers memorials to the Vietnam Veterans Association or the St. Jude's Children Hospital appreciated. Consider a donation, as requested by the family.
