With sadness, we share the passing of Zigmont Lewandowski of Elwood, Illinois. Zigmont, born on August 24, 1941, passed away on September 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Zigmont Lewandowski and Bertha Lewandowski; his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Czernik; and his siblings, Betty, Dolly, Irene and Chester.
He is survived by: his stepsons, Ted Pryor (Melinda) of Chicago and Andy Pryor of Tinley Park; his grandchildren, Ted Pryor (Jessica), Ryan Pryor (Tara), Tyler Kairis and Ryan Kairis; and his great grandchildren, Jacob, Camila, Cassandra and Owen.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home (3200 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60431). A prayer will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Queen of Apostles Catholic Church (18 Woodlawn Ave, Joliet, IL 60435). A burial will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
