She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Frank and Emma Freeman (Gaston); her former husbands, Paul Dwyane Davis and Donald Stephen Bruns; her husband Jesse Merkel; and her siblings, Frank "Junior" Freeman, George E. Freeman and Edna Freeman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Beth Davis (Calvin "Champ") of Marion, IL, Kim Normington (David) of Energy, IL and Elaine Fisher; her stepchildren, Todd Bruns (Nairim) of San Antonio, TX and Gayle Bruns of San Antonio, TX; her grandchildren, Alexis Ragsdale (Amber) of Herrin, IL and Brandon Ragsdale (Ashley) of New Port Richey, FL; her stepgrandchild Ashley Bruns (Ryne Bruns); and her great grandchildren, Aaron Hughey-Ragsdale of Herrin, IL, A. J. Ragsdale of Herrin, IL, Elena Ragsdale of New Port Richey, FL and Carter Paul Ragsdale of New Port Richey, FL. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
