We bid farewell to Norbert Rider of Equality, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 2, 2025 at the age of 82. Norbert touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, George "Gib" Rider and Eva Rider (McCormick). He is survived by: his children, Shawn Rider (Michelle) of Eldorado, Michael Rider of Eldorado, Kimberly Rider of Myrtle Beach, SC and Nicholas Rider of Equality; his grandchildren, Gabrielle Rider, Joseph Rider (Andrea), Lucas Rider (Dawn), McKenzie Rider, Chaise Prince (Carissa), Brianna Childers, Bailey Rider and Raine Rider; his great grandchildren, Jayce, Brent, Ryder, Remy, Bricen, Clayton, Grayson and Drew; his close friends, Judy Scates of New York, NY and Leslie Carpenter of Shawneetown, IL; and his caregiver Kay Payne of Cave.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Kateri Catholic Church (209 S Jarrell St, Ridgway, IL 62979). A Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Brookstone Estates' Activity Fund.
