He was predeceased by: his father Earl Zimmerman. He is survived by: his mother Elsie Zimmerman (Kaufman) of Eureka; his wife Mary Hartman of Eureka; his children, Adair Zimmerman (Jamie) of Carlock, Malinda Kafka (Bill) of Indianapolis, Betsy Ulrich (Loren) of Deer Creek and Larae Schmidgall (Nick) of Congerville; his grandchildren, Rhett, Remi, Rowe and Charley; and his siblings, Dianne Schmidgall (Mikel) of Eureka, Dale Zimmerman (Sue) of Eureka, Elaine Frank (Scott) of Eureka, Ruth Leman (Ed) of Eureka and Gloria Cottrell (John) of Eureka.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Church (700 W Cruger Ave, Eureka, IL 61530).
