She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Clinton Shafer and Lydia Ann Shafer (Brammer); her cousins, Jim and Nadine Ilten; and her goddaughter Janet Elise Ilten.

She is survived by: her cousins, Julie Ilten, Kathleen Heller (Jeff), Karla Menze (Greg), Emma, Elizabeth Heller, Katherine, Caroline Menze and Brammer.
