It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayde Akers in Evanston, Illinois, who passed away on July 17, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Wayde departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Wayde. Though Wayde may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

He was predeceased by: his sisters, Oweita Clanton (late Elmus) and Kitty Wilson (late Bruce). He is survived by: his wife Gail; his sons, Michael Bruce Akers (Amber) and William Raymond Akers (Samantha); his granddaughters, Danica and Adelyn Akers; and his sister Wilma Lewis (late Grady). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Wade was a good man, a funny man and he loved you dearly.. carry him in your heart and remember all the good times and he will be with you much as I would like to come to the service I will not be able to. I’m unable to walk long distances and I can’t stand for more than five minutes. My back is shot but I send you hugs and. Strength. Susie”
