With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Zachary Douglas Lazar (Evanston, Illinois), who passed away on August 16, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Muriel Lazar; his father Zachary; his children, Zachary Jr. Lazar (Anne), Justine Atkison (Craig) and Alex Lazar (Colleen); his stepchildren, Pam Rezek (Jim Te Winkle) and Phil Rezek; his siblings, Carolyn Wisdom (Warren), Stephen Lazar (Michael Grazer) and Linda Yohe; and his nieces and nephews, Cabrini Hays, Tia Cerone, Ty Yohe and Tom Yohe.

In lieu of flowers, they kindly request donations in Zachary's name to The Friends of the Chicago River or The Nature Conservancy, reflecting his commitment to making the world a healthier, cleaner, and better place.
