He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Orlin W. Rice and Virginia L. Rice (Ward); and his brother Brian Rice. He is survived by: his wife Lucy Rice (Montes); his son Liam; his sister Shannon Rice Nyhart; his sibling's children, Ashley Nyhart Mulholland (Erin), Brittany Poe (Nick), Joshua Nyhart and Carlos Montes III; and his great-nephew Logan Poe.
