He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest James and Helen Vaughn Bennett; and his son Bradley Whittier Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Bennett; his sons, Jeff Bennett (Lori) and Mitch Bennett (Taylor) of Ewing; his siblings, Jim Bennett of Benton, Rodney Bennett of Newburgh, Indiana, Marlene Webb of Ewing and Lynda Sanchez of Benton; his grandchildren, Brandon, Lauren, Brock, Jordan, Alex, Kaitlyn and Josh Bennett; and his great grandchildren, Isabella and Keagen Bennett.
