He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hofmann, and Esther Sutter Hofmann, Sr.; his wife Carolyn Spence; his brother Wilbur Hofmann; his son Gene Hofmann; his great grandchild Nolan Emory; and his son-in-law Paul Bittner.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Hofmann (Patty) of Fairbury, Greg Hofmann (Teresa) of Clayton, NC, Gail Schladenhauffen (Keith) of Fairbury, Gina McGlaun (Jon) of Derby, KS and Glen Hofmann (Ashleigh) of Colfax; and his siblings, Delores Headley, Ida Ziller, Janet Steidinger, Erna Lou Kelly and Dallas Hofmann. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
