It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Mae Knapp of Fairbury, Illinois, born in Kawkawlin, Michigan, who passed away on October 28, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Knochel and Nettie Knochel (Wieland); her granddaughter Natasha Stewart (Knapp); and her siblings, Harold, Alpha, Theodore, Norman, Floyd, Victor, Herbert, Fred II, Marie Schieler and Vinie Wackerle.
She is survived by: her children, Kirby (Fairbury), Kanda (Mark), Kennan, Kristi, Kaylene (Mark) and Butikofer (El Paso); her grandchildren, Justin Steffen (Danielle), Kyler Knapp, Jennifer Young (Matthew), Lanae Yong (Gary), Whitney Iaun (Andrew), Sharnell Fritz (Jarod), Nicole Gosling (Matthew), Sydney Glowacz (Krystian) and Janessa Leman (Aaron); her great grandchildren, Blake, Emma, Adyn, Ruby Steffen, Audrey, Titus, Bennett, Fisher Young, Tristen Stewart and Leo Gosling; and her sisters-in-law, Elinor Knochel and Johanna Knochel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church (705 N 4th St, Fairbury, IL 61739).
In lieu of flowers, the family directs any memorials to Fairview Haven, Fairbury, or the Apostolic Christian LifePoints, Morton.
