He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Bachtold and Lydia Bachtold (Steffen); his former wife Viola Mae Honegger; and his siblings, Irvin Bachtold and Anna Marie Bachtold.
He is survived by: his daughters, Joy Garber (Denny) and Jill Wenger (Richard). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
