He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Bahler and Ida Bahler (Steffen); his wife Jane Helmers; his siblings, Helen Frye, Verla Davis and Ralph; his grandson Ray Bahler; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Helmers, Carl Lemna, Ken Broquard, Wayne Davis and Ruth Broquard.
He is survived by: his children, Julie Drayer (Herman) of Bluffton, IN, Connie Schmidgall (Bill) of Fairbury and Steven Bahler (Darlene) of Fairbury; his sisters-in-law, Jeanette Bahler, Lois Lemna and Darlene Helmers; and his brother Arthur Bahler (Suzanne). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six step grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, twenty-two step great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren, two step great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
