He was predeceased by: his parents, George Augsburger and Viola Weishaupt Augsburger; his sister Joyce Grana; and his brothers-in-law, John Grana, Galen Haren and Dick Loercher.
He is survived by: his partner Jan Kester of Fairbury; his children, Paul (Tania Farries) of Chicago, IL and Peggy Augsburger of Gallatin, TN; his stepsons, Matt Curl (Jayme) of Fairbury, IL and Jeff Curl (Bridget) of Fairbury, IL; his siblings, Joan Haren of Cullom, IL, Judith Augsburger of Chatsworth, IL, Jean Loercher of Whitefish, MT, Philip Augsburger of Dallas, TX and Perry Augsburger (Alma) of Fairbury, IL; his grandson Jared Mungo (Kayla) of Goodlettsville, TN; his great grandchild Amalia Mungo; and his stepgrandchildren, Katy Curl, Tyler Curl (Paige), Ellie Curl and Jesslyn Curl. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Chatsworth American Legion (528 E Locust St, Chatsworth, IL 60921). The military honors will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the Chatsworth American Legion, Fairbury VFW, Fairbury Fair, or Fairbury American Legion Speedway.
