It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley McKibben of Fairfield, Illinois, who passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Crumbacher and Agnes Crumbacher (Withrow); her husband Charles McKibben; her son-in-law Rick Simmons; her niece Teresa Medler; and her brothers-in-law, Charles Flack and Jerry McIlvoy.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy Simmons of Salem, IL and Bruce McKibben (Debbie) of Fairfield; her grandchildren, Tyler Simmons (Jenna), Jared Simmons (Sarah), Julie Garrett (Johnathon) and Emily Taylor (Lincoln); her great grandchildren, Caleb Garrett, Joshua Garrett, Jack Simmons and Sean Simmons; and her siblings, Allen Crumbacher of Rochelle, IL, George Crumbacher of Bridgeton, MO, Darlene "Joy" Flack of Texas, Louise Schick (Doug) of Rochelle, IL, Judy Scarbrough of Fairfield, IL, Doris "Kay" McIlvoy (Edward) of Rochelle, IL and Faye Johnson (Floyd) of Marion, IL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either the Clay County Hospice Foundation or the First Baptist Church of Fairfield and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
