She was predeceased by: her former husband Joseph Lapka, Jr.; her parents, Fred Engelage and Cleda Engelage; and her brother Donald Engelage. She is survived by: her husband Joe; her children, Galen Lapka (Patty) of Memphis, Sherrie Merz of Belleville and Tyann Layton of St. Peters, Missouri.; her grandchildren, Jeremy Lapka (Carolyn), Jason Lapka (Sheri), Jared Lapka and Whitney Swan; her great grandchildren, Braeden Lapka, Greyson Lapka, Peyton Swan and Paige Swan; her nephew Charles Beyer; her niece Karin Beyer; and her cousin Mary M. Caminiti.
Memorials may be made to the Metro East Humane Society in Edwardsville, Illinois, or to the donor's choice.
