He is survived by : his sister-in-law Clara Luechtefeld; his wife Geraldine "Geri"; his children, Douglas Gegelman (Kristal Holton-Boothman) of Fairview Heights, IL and Tara Weilmuenster (Tom) of Fairview Heights, IL; his grandchildren, Hayden, Griffin Gegelman, Emma and Claire Weilmuenster; and his siblings, James Gegelman (Peggy) of Beulah, ND, Cathy Johnson of Beulah, ND, Kenneth Gegelman of Yuma, AZ, Linda Wolf (Bob), Jeffrey Gegelman (Connie) of Golden Valley, ND and Monte Gegelman (Bev) of Baldwin, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, St Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
