Julie Moss Obituary
Julie M. Moss, age 60, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on August 31, 1960 In East St. Louis, IL died on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL surrounded by her family. Julie was a graduate of Sycamore High School in Sycamore, IL. In her life, she was a valuable person to the community of Fairview Heights.
Julie participated in various events, whether it be working at Holy Trinity's Fish Fry's, the Parish Picnic or helping at events at the grade schools her kids attended. Julie was always someone you could depend on for a helping hand. In her career, she worked a wide range of retail jobs and made many lifelong friends while doing so.
Many of her friends have many memories of working with her and will always hold memories dear to their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia A. Swengross and Henry G. Zittel; her brother, Daniel C. Zittel; her aunts, Cathy Mullane and Jeanne Mullane; and her grandparents, Paul and Marie Mullane. Julie is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, David A. Moss; her ex-husband Robert Stephenson of Kalamazoo, MI; her stepfather, George "Sonny" Swengross; her children Robert (Nick) Stephenson of Kalamazoo, MI, Emily A. (Newton) Hall of Detroit, MI, Tyler G. (Felicia) Moss of St. Louis, MO, and Grace I. Moss of Fairview Heights, IL; her siblings, Henry P. (Jane Vogt) Zittel and Chris Zittel; and her stepbrother, Eddie (Karen) Swengross of FL.
In addition, she is survived by in-laws, Joan and Gilbert Moss of Fairview Heights, IL; sibling-in-laws, Mike and Diane Moss of MI, Mike and Kris Stone of Frankfurt, KY, Karen and Ed Miller of Shiloh, IL, and Joel and Kelley Murray of Alto Pass, IL. Julie was a loving cousin, aunt, and grand aunt to both sides of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Grace's Education Fund or to Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. A funeral procession will leave the mortuary on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. for a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL with Fr. Jim Nall officiating.
