He was predeceased by : his wife Shirley Fietsam; his son Ronald Fietsam, Jr.; his grandson Jason Arcynski; his parents, Celsus John Fietsam and Viola Fietsam; his stepfather-in-law Erwin Stahl; his parents-in-law, Edith Stahl and Otto Oliver; his brother-in-law John Oliver; his brother Robert Fietsam; his sister-in-law Ramona Fietsam; his brothers, Richard Fietsam and David Fietsam; his siblings-in-law, Marti Fietsam, Robert Oliver and Miriam Fietsam; and his niece Vicky Longworth.

He is survived by : his children, Kim Smith (Wally), Susan Nussbaumer (Kevin), Linda Dickerson and Jeffrey Fietsam; his daughter-in-law Dawn York; his siblings, Dale Fietsam and Ethel Longworth (Dave); his sister-in-law Pat Fietsam; his grandchildren, Craig Fietsam, Julie Conder (Tim), Sarah Holle, Jennifer Springer (Aren), Amy Hoef, Joshua Kelly, Matthew Kelly, Michael Nussbaumer (Devan), Makenzie Fietsam (Max McQuillan) and Cameron Fietsam; his great grandchildren, Ronald Fietsam, Molly Fietsam-Conder, Adam Springer (Lexy), Noah, Zoey Springer, Peyton, Rilee Holle, Fischer Marino, Craig Jr., Grayson Fietsam, Kolten and Adalyn Nussbaumer; and his great great grandchild Everleigh Springer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lake View Funeral Home (5000 N Illinois St, Fairview Heights, IL 62208). A memorial service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials in remembrance of Ron may be made to the American Cancer Society.
