He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia "Ginger" Mackin; his daughter Debra Kay Foley; his parents, Leo Mackin and Dorothy Mackin; and his siblings, William M. Mackin, Leo E. Mackin, Kenneth E. Mackin, Philip J. Mackin, Marianne Carney and Donna L. Grossman.
He is survived by: his sons, David Mackin (Melanie) and Steven Mackin (Maria); his son-in-law Kevin Foley; and his grandchildren, Patrick Foley (Vanessa), Timothy Foley (Ali), Matt Mackin (Jackie), Douglas Mackin (Christina) and Thomas M. Mackin. He is also survived by twelve great‑grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church (625 Saint Nicholas Dr, O'Fallon, IL 62269). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
