Neva D. Baar Obituary
We announce the death of Neva D. Baar of Fenton, Illinois, who passed away on October 21, 2026, at the age of 99. Neva will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clark R. Nelson and Stella Nelson (Barnhard); her husband Bernie Baar; her daughter Shari Lee Baar; her grandson Andrew John "Andy" Bush; her sons-in-law, Brent Miller, Doug Leslie, Roger Bush and Brian Balk; her sisters, Joyce Snyder (Bill) and Wanda Riggen (Chuck); and her siblings-in-law, Lawrence Mohns, Jerry Bush, Tom Scidmore, Elmer Huizenga and Gertrude Huizenga.
She is survived by: her children, Sue Leslie of Clinton, IA, Mary Schaefer (Kim) of Morrison, IL, Beth Anne Bush-Balk (Scott Meinsma) of Morrison, IL, Shelley Harold (Phil) of DeKalb, IL and Steven Baar (Gwen); and her siblings, Virginia Bush-Scidmore of Morrison, IL, Esther Mohns of Morrison, IL and Neil Richard "Danny" Nelson (Linda) of Fenton, IL.. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ebenezer Reformed Church (309 E Park St, Morrison, IL 61270). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Her dedication and contributions to farm life and agricultural were recognized when she was named Farm Woman of the Year in 1982.
