He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Harmon and Delcie Mentz (Lewis); his siblings, Marjorie Kensil and Lonnie Mentz; and his granddaughter Winnie Morrison.

He is survived by: his wife JoAnne Ward; his children, Linda Morrison (Carl) of Simpson, IL, Brent Mentz (Maren) of Shelbyville, TN and Mitchell Mentz (Mary Lynn) of Danville, AR; his grandchildren, Ross, Michael, Keith, Gracie, Cole, Ethan and Lauren; and his great grandchildren, Collins and Saylor-Ann.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the Clarence Bixler American Legion.
