It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Lee Bayes of Findlay, Illinois, who passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Albert and Doris Mae Bayes (Waters); his wife Myrtle; his son Steven Daniel Bayes; and his brother Bill Bayes.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Taber (John) of Charleston, Cheryl Jones (Randy) of Farmer City and Thomas Bayes (Veronica) of Sullivan; his grandchildren, Dacia, Rachel, Daniel, Michael, Andrew, Jarad, Brielle, Mikayla, Holli and Thomas "TJ"; and his sister Peggy Clapp. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Bob's honor may be made to the Clarence Bixler American Legion Post 409 of Findlay and may be mailed to Lockart-Green Funeral Home, 302 W. Main St., Shelbyville, IL 62565.
