She was predeceased by : her parents, Lester Strange and Annabelle Strange (Brown); her husband Kevin J. Surrell; her children, David Brightwell Jr. and Brandy Magerski; her brothers, Norman Strange and Lester Strange; and her grandchildren, Annabella Brightwell and Ashton Jansma.
She is survived by : her children, Matthew Jansma of Cedar Lake, Indiana and Robyn Keilman (Stacy) of Crown Point, Indiana; her grandchildren, Tyler Barron of Valpariso, Sarah Magerski of Griffith, Parker Magerski of Griffith, David Brightwell III of Lowell, Adriana Brightwell of New York, Delanie Jansma of Lowell, Mikey Jansma of Crown Point, Chris Jansma of North Dakota and Rex Jansma of Cedar Lake, Indiana; her great grandchild Skyler Barron; and her sisters, Brenda Zwick (Richard) of Smyrna Beach and Vivian Pruitt of Flora.
Memorial donations are suggested to the family for an education fund for Carol's grandchildren and will be accepted through the funeral home.
