Don touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, William McGrew and Gladys McGrew (Taylor); and his wife Frances McGrew (Scott). He is survived by: his children, Donna Gansauer (Bruce) of Centralia, Illinois, Roger McGrew (Connie) of Xenia, Illinois, Cathy Leathers (Steve) of Mt. Carmel, Illinois and Brian McGrew (Renee) of Belleville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Ryan Gansauer (Heather), Dustin Gansauer (Emily), Travis McGrew, Tyler McGrew (Sadie), Kendal Sacchieri (Ray), Dustin Witsman (Hanna), Blake Witsman (Brianna), Clint Witsman (Theresa), Shane Witsman (Lauren), Chase, Faith Witsman, Emily Hinrichs (James) and Elizabeth Hays (Nolan); his sisters, Wilma Scarbrough, Wanda Harrell, Janice Irvin (Eddie) and Nancy Hamilton (Bub); his stepsons, Eugene Scott (Brenda), David Scott (Linda) and Brian Scott (Cindy); and his close friend Betty Harrell. He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry or Wounded Warrior Project, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
