He was predeceased by: his wife Violet Hays (Smith); his parent Etta Hart (Hays); his stepfather Robert "Bob" Hart; and his sisters, Eula Hays, Sherry and Carrie.
He is survived by: his son Steven Hays (Emilie) of Orchardville; and his grandsons, Pete of Orchardville, Cale of Orchardville and Ripp Hays of Orchardville. He is also survived by Several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
