It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Cook of Flora, Illinois, who passed away on January 22, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Cook and Dorothy Mae Cook (Lamb); his spouse Shelby Jean Yowell; his children, Cathy Sexton and Mike Anderson; and his brothers, Orval Lee Cook and Jerry Edward Cook.
He is survived by: his sons, Richard Cook Jr. (Lesa) of Flora and Joe Anderson (Karen) of Flora; his son-in-law Ron Sexton of Flora; and his sisters, Corrina Songer of Flora and Theresa Taylor of Clay City. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Hospice or the Clay County Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, and these will be accepted by the funeral home.
