He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Edward Haab and Laura Metz Haab; his wife Carol Sue Rieger; his children, Nancy Lane (Joe) of Ft. Myers, FL, Robert Haab (Kathy) of Forrest, Kay Shiflett (Ryan) of Fairbury, Gail Marten (Gary) of Broken Arrow, OK and Mark Haab (Kim) of Fairbury; his grandchildren, Brad Haab (Ashley), Nathan Haab (Krissy), Joey Lane, Rebekah Westcott (Brandon), Abby Swalley (Zak), Rachel Marten, Emily Shiflett (Raymond Bull), Connor Haab and McKenna Haab; his stepgranddaughters, Bridgette Alexander and Michelle Clark; his sister Elenore Ricketts of Fairbury; and his sister-in-law Marylu Haab of Forrest. He was also cherished by eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Living Word Church, Roberts, First Baptist Church, Fairbury, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Forrest, or Prairie Central Athletic Boosters.
