We are sad to announce that on May 13, 2026, at the age of 90, Darlene M. Brooks of Forreston, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Webster Drake and Hermina Drake; her husband Lester; her brother Duane (Virginia); her sister-in-law Sandra Drake; and her sister JoAnn Conkey (Bob).
She is survived by: her sons, Joel Lester Brooks, Timothy "Tim" Webster Brooks (Erixana) of Madison and Thomas "Tom" James Brooks (Joan) of Forreston; her grandchild Koel Brooks (Maggie) of Forreston; her great grandchildren, Sofie and Robert "Robby" of Bettendorf, Iowa; her grandchild Jorden Sasscer (Ben); her great grandchildren, Allie, Ava and Jack; her grandson Duncan Brooks (Tristan) of Louisville; her great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Azaiah and Aria; her grandchild Araminta Tuttle (Jed) of Lafayette; her great grandchildren, Annilee and Cecily; her grandson Jacob Brooks of Madison, Indiana.; her siblings, Ethel Osterloo (Norman) and Donald Drake; her siblings-in-law, Mary Ellen Davis (Malcom), Katherine Jacob and Phillip Brooks (Joanne); and her pet Smokey Joe.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Burke-Tubbs Funeral Homes - Forreston (203 3rd Ave, Forreston, IL 61030). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Forreston United Methodist Church (402 1st Ave, Forreston, IL 61030). A burial will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Brookville Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forreston United Methodist Church and the UW–Madison Carbone Cancer Center.
