He was predeceased by: his parents, Ada Pettyjohn and Ira Pettyjohn; his siblings, Edward Pettyjohn, Larry Pettyjohn, Nancy Dickson-Gentry and Charles Pettyjohn; and his brother-in-law Joel Gentry.
He is survived by: his son Justin Montgomery; and his siblings, Barbara Smith of Decatur, IL., Diane Pettyjohn of Peoria, IL. and David Pettyjohn of Decatur, IL.. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews and their children along with many great nieces and nephews.
