He was predeceased by : his wife Irene; and his parents, Eileen Danahey and William Danahey. He is survived by : his children, Daniel Danahey, Danielle Kolosh (Kenneth), Shawn Danahey, Kevin Danahey (Jacqueline), Kelly Powell (Mark), Tracy Haarmann (Michael) and Maegen Tulk (Jeffrey); his grandchildren, Grant, Kasey Spasoff (James), Emmett, Alexis, Blair, Luke, Victoria, Cole, Mac, Olivia, Dominic, Giovanna and Gavin; his great grandchildren, Tristan, Evan, Blake Spasoff and Gianni Danahey; and his siblings, Robert Danahey (Louise) and Thomas Danahey (Nancy).

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 13th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home (530 W 14th St, Chicago Heights, IL 60411). The lying in state was held on Friday, June 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Anthony Church (7659 W Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL 60423). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, June 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
