He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward King and Ione King; and his stepmother Marian King. He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Fredric "Ric" King Jr. (Maureen) and Lori Bader (Kent); his grandchildren, Lauren Widlowski (Jake), Juliana King, Heather Jones (Mike) and Brett King; his great grandchildren, Annie, Fredrick Widlowski and Grace Jones; his brothers, Edward King (Marsha), William King (Janet) and David King (Marcia); and his stepbrother Roger Gildemeister (Barbara). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Fredric's name to the United Methodist Church of New Lenox would be appreciated.

“Ruth and family, We are so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. There are so many memories stretching back to the 40's and 50's on the South Side. Many holidays, weddings, funerals, and family get togethers. We were a pretty close knit bunch of cousins back in the day and like many families geography, time, and other obligations have kept us from keeping in touch the way we might have liked. Fred was and always will be a favorite cousin who loved to laugh. Our condolences. Wally and Carole”
