He was predeceased by: his parents, William W. McKenna and Pauline McKenna; his siblings, William (Bill), Elizabeth, Michael, Mary Lou and Barbara; and his son Matthew McKenna.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Marie McKenna; and his children, Robert Jr., Kathleen Jr., Mark, John, Christopher, Joseph and Jacqueline. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Forsythe Gould Funeral Home (507 S State St, Manhattan, IL 60442). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (235 W North St, Manhattan, IL 60442).
