It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary B. Schafer of Franklin Grove, Illinois, born in Nachusa, Illinois, who passed away on August 6, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, John G. Torti and Emma Torti (Blattler); her husband John A. Schafer; and her children, John C. Schafer and Elaine Schafer.

She is survived by : her children, Betsy Stover of Dixon, Sherry Doner (Howard) of Pecatonica, IL and Scott Schafer (Carrie) of Batavia, IL; her grandchildren, Kim Conderman (Chris), Tracey Webb (Kim), Corrine Griffith (Coleman), Kevin Doner, Luke Schafer and Nate Schafer; her brother John Torti (Pat) of Dixon; and her daughter-in-law Louise Schafer. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, in Franklin Grove or Serenity Hospice and Home, in Oregon, IL.
