James E. Johnson Jr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James E. Johnson Jr. of Franklin, Illinois, who passed away on October 29, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Sr. Johnson and Alice "Billie" Ryan Johnson; his daughter Dana Johnson; his grandson Scotty Miller; his son-in-law Craig Scheets; and his sister Marie Plasmier.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine A. Lockhart; his children, Diane Hungerford (Scott), Denise Waggener (Tim), Donna Miller, Deborah Burnett (Mike), Jimmie Johnson IV (Alissa), Deann Scheets and Jonathan Johnson (Katina); and his siblings, Judy Norris (Tom) and Paul Johnson (Lin). He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren.
A prayer will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Williamson Funeral Home (1405 Lincoln Ave, Jacksonville, IL 62650). Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Our Saviour (500 E State St, Jacksonville, IL 62650). A burial will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at the Sacred Heart Cemetery (420 E Wyatt Ave, Franklin, IL 62638).
