It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Lee Janssen of Freeport, Illinois, who passed away on October 13, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Judy Janssen (Backes); his daughters, Penny Luy (Richard) and Brenda Janssen Wade; and his grandchildren, Dustin Wilkinson (Andrea), Gary Wilkinson (Joey), Ashley Wilkinson, Joshua Janssen, Dylan Janssen (Shia), Nate Luy (Kerri), Zachary Janssen (Laura), Charity Luy and Steve Luy. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.

“In loving memory of Gary Lee Janssen, Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. I dispatched Gary for 4 years at SHI. He was one of my favorites. If you were having a bad day he would cheer you up with one of his stories or jokes. Gary was also concerned about getting the job done. He would do anything for anyone. He helped mold me into a the dispatcher I would become. I missed him when I left SHI. He would call me once in awhile to give me the business and ask how I was doing.”
