He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Tempel and Anna Tempel (Schroeder); his father-in-law Jack Boyer; and his siblings, Daryl Tempel, Carol Kay and Julie Ray.

He is survived by: his wife Cheri Boyer; his children, Dan (Carrie) of Madison, WI, Angie of Freeport and Nathan (Nicole); his grandchildren, Clayton (Angel), Kylie (Zed), Maddi, Kara, Tristan, Piper and Keaton; his great grandchild Kay; his mother-in-law Darlene Boyer; his brother Gene Tempel; his siblings-in-law, Keith Boyer (Butch), Kathy Wenzel (Ellwyn), Brenda Brown (Paul), Liz Senn (Forrest), Becky Tempel and Lorraine Tempel; and his nephews, Daryl Tempel Jr., Darrin Tempel, Matthew Brown and Zeelynd Joly.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in his name.
