With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan D. Britton of Freeport, Illinois, who passed away on May 29, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hobart Garrett and Miriam Garrett; her husband David Britton (Marty) of Kansas City, MO; her sister Betty Skaritka; her daughter Carol; and her son-in-law Gene Griswold.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Eric Griswold (Dawn), Clay Britton (Katy), Dan Britton (Betty), Mike Britton, Elizabeth Jurkowski (Christian) and Sarah Emanuels (Joe); and also, Nancy Griswold of Elgin, IL and Barbara Carpenter (Galen) of Rescue, CA. She is also survived by 9 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Zion Church of Freeport (4292 W Stephenson St Rd, Freeport, IL 61032). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
