He was predeceased by: his father Glenn Manthei. He is survived by: his mother Marjorie Manthei; his wife Colette Anselme; his daughter Mallory Anselme; his son-in-law Andy Fruth; his sons, Bryan and Brandon Manthei; his siblings, Barry, Kelly, Jeff (Marla), Sheila (Jerrold) and Sheryl Stohecker; his grandchildren, Paxton, Presley and Porter Fruth; his daughter Heidi; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Strohecker and Leslie Manthei. He is also survived by Uncle Joel also had 18 nieces/nephews & 22 great nieces/nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Joel's name.
