She was predeceased by: her mother Ruby Lee Tripplett-Pearson; and her grandparents, Ann Triplett and Nazareth Tripplett. She is survived by: her close friend James Austin; her father Clyde Pearson; and her siblings, Diana Johnson-Schaar, Maurice Pearson and Gretchen Early. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
