It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loretta (Reta) Joy Huenefeld of Freeport, Illinois, who passed away on November 8, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ole Martinson and Lois Martinson (Parr); her husband Robert Huenefeld; her siblings, Leah Roberts and Ron Martinson; and her son-in-law David Ditzler.
She is survived by: her daughters, Pam Miller (Bob) of Iowa City, IA and Gigi Ditzler of Freeport, IL; her grandchildren, Matt Miller (Samantha), Joshua Miller of Iowa City, IA, Lindsay Ditzler (John Sander) of Indianola, IA and Sara Thompson (Dave) of Norwalk, IA; her great grandchildren, Finn, Jaxon Miller, Linus, Theo Sander, Edwin and Olive Thompson; and her sister-in-law Marge Bamberg. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and friends.
A memorial has been established in her memory for the Freeport Church of the Brethren, FHN Hospice or Doctors Without Borders.
