With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marilee Staas of Freeport, Illinois, born in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on August 4, 2022 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, JD Glenn, Sr. and Norma Durr (Sheppard); her stepfather Adolph "Bud" Durr; her sister Nora Johnson (Donald); and her stepdaughters, LeAnne Leffler and Laura Hammond.

She is survived by : her husband Richard T. Staas, Sr.; her sons, Richard T. Staas, Jr. and Mitchell Staas (Kelly); her grandchildren, Max, Raegan Staas, Piper and Lucy Staas; and her siblings, Norma Munson (Rocky) and JD Glenn, Jr.. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

“I am with a heavy heart, at the passing of my cousin, Marilee. I treasure the childhood memories, growing up in the same neighborhood, sharing Holidays and everyday life with her and her Family. I realize as an adult now, I was probably an annoying nuisance to her, but she never expressed it. She always had a kind heart and I looked up to her as the sister, I never had.
