In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Marissa leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Marissa may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her father Joseph Schmidt; her godmother Misty Witt; and her grandparents, Edward Schmidt, Dick and JoAnn Koester.
She is survived by: her mother Susan Koester; her brothers, Kevin Schmidt (Diane Lou) and Arthur Schmidt; and her grandmother Katherine Schmidt.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Harmony United Methodist Church (2600 W Pearl City Rd, Freeport, IL 61032). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to assist with Marissa's funeral expenses. Donations may be made payable to Susan Koester.
