He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewel Fricks and Bessie Fricks; his daughter Vivian Gaye Wilkerson-Chess; his granddaughter Katisha Gaye Wilkerson; and his siblings, Eyules, James Fricks and Versie Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Clara Mae Wiley; his daughters, Una R Shorter (Herbert) and Bridgette V Fricks; and his brother Leonard Fricks Sr.. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild.
