He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Gale and Dorothy Gale (Miller) of Galva, Illinois.. He is survived by: his wife Jo Anne Gale (Smith); his daughter Carrie Fowler (Steve Fowler) of Wilmette; his stepson Thomas Kavadas of Freeport; his grandchildren, Cecilia, William and Evelyn Fowler; his sister Joan Wilson of Decatur, Georgia; his nieces, Saasha and Sarah Wilson of Decatur Georgia; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Fazio (Smith), Cindy Smith, Penny Smith and Sue Fredrick (Smith).

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Burke Tubbs Funeral Home - Freeport (504 N Walnut Ave, Freeport, IL 61032).

A memorial has been established for St. Jude's Children Hospital in Mr. Gale's memory.
