He was predeceased by: his parents, Kadri Sala and Zeynep Sala; his brother James Sala (Tina) of Brodhead, Wisconsin; and his daughter Sibel. He is survived by: his children, Alp Sala (Pimonsiri "Lexi") of Freeport and Figen Ortiz (Martin) of Ft. Myers, Florida; and his grandchildren, Angelina and Auston Sala.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Shriners Children Hospital in Mr. Sala's memory.
