He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Eggemeier and Alma Eggemeier (Tielke). He is survived by: his wife Sandra Ludewig of Freeport; his children, Pam Eggemeier of Freeport, Doug Eggemeier (Sally) of Freeport and Lisa VanDrew (Craig) of Freeport; his granddaughters, Amanda Allis (Jeff) of Chicago and Haley; his great grandchild Ellie Allis of Chicago; his sister Charlotte Ditsworth of Freeport; and his sister-in-law Jeanne Broderick (Frank). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established for a cause yet to be determined.

“I grew up living on Bidwell street in Freeport Il & per Father Kenedy who was in charge at that time he requested that we were welcome to go to St. Vincents orphanage & play with the kids that were in there at that time. Ray & his brother Kenny were some of the kids we played sports with. We had some great times together. The family of Ray has my deepest sympathy & may God bless!!!!”
