It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Lee Zunker of Freeport, Illinois, who passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Robert leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Robert may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Zunker and Orelda Zunker (Stabenow). He is survived by: his sons, Jason Zunker and Kevin Zunker (Keely); his grandchildren, Kyle and Ben Zunker; his brother Virgil Zunker (Barb); and his nieces, Sheryl and Sheila Zunker (Nancy Zunker).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Burke-Tubbs Funeral Homes - Freeport (504 N Walnut Ave, Freeport, IL 61032).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family and will be donated to the University of Wisconsin Madison Carbone Cancer Center to support patients and families affected by cancer.
